Username: Yin_Lee
Fandom: The Secret World + Vampire: the Masquerade
Alignment: Other
Type: Human
Biography:
What's the sound of one hand punching into an uncaring void?
Yin spent most her life in the service of a shadow organization known as the Dragon. Comprised of consummate zealots of chaos theory, the Dragon is, above all else, a seeker of order in chaos. Simultaneously master and student, it effects controlled changes and observes the resultant ripples. It has become extremely adept at manipulating events to its liking, often generations in advance. With mostly mortal humans in its ranks, the Dragon also reinforces something akin to the Masquerade throughout the Far East, analyzing and acting upon supernatural threats with the accumulated tactical acumen of untold centuries.
Yin was handed over to the organization’s monks at age six. She was placed in a Dragon-controlled monastery in northern China and matured beneath a regimen of Zen Buddhism, Chaos Theory, and modified Northern Crane kung fu. More esoteric studies opened the world of auras, spirits, and sensitivity to flowing Chi.
Her coming-of-age presented a thoroughly indoctrinated and qualified agent to the Dragon. The woman’s subsequent activities varied wildly. With a nonexistent resume that lists spy, college student, monster slayer, diplomat to the Kuei-Jin, hacker, and terrorist, Yin’s existence was a busy one.
When everything changed, it changed overnight.
A mission went awry. Intensive torture was involved, its victim left for dead. At dawn the next day, Yin was called to appear before the head of her order. There—quiet and calm through sheer force of trained will—she was summarily dismissed from service.
That was a couple of years ago. Now, with a different false identity in every pocket, unknown resources in cryptocurrency investments, and too much knowledge to return to mortal life, Yin is a wanderer bereft of long-term purpose. She is a fount of nonsense after the style of Zen koans, and it can be unclear whether she’s speaking with measured thoughtfulness or budding insanity. (Most lean towards the latter.)
She seems to have a special fondness for annoying the People’s Republic of China. Other times, she meditates with her begging bowl like a proper monk. Once in awhile, she vanishes.
